Why your “perfect week” is holding you back
Last week was far from perfect.
I’ll be honest: I struggled. But if there’s one thing extreme swimming teaches you, it’s that the water doesn’t care about your plans – it only cares about how you adapt. This week, I found my rhythm again. Getting back into the water on Monday felt incredible, even if I’m still battling shoulder issues and grinding through technical changes to my stroke.
But it got me thinking:

Why are we so obsessed with perfection?

Why “Perfect” is Weak
I just published a new article: “Why Your Need for a Perfect Week is Keeping You Weak”.
We all face the same storm. We have families, careers, and massive projects. We have a training plan, we miss one session, and then the guilt set in. That guilt is a trap. If you let it sit, it stops you from moving toward your goal.
In the article, I break down:

How to “bounce back” the moment things go off-track.

Why missing a session isn’t a failure, but a pivot.

How to keep your momentum without the weight of perfectionism.

Alpine Seven Update: The Momentum is Building
We are currently juggling three major pillars for the project:

The Alpine Seven Charity Gala

The Alpine Seven Community Swim

The Alpine Seven Community Challenge

Big News:
We have officially found the right partner to build the infrastructure for our Community Swim! We are working hard on the homepage and backend systems as we speak.
Our goal? To launch the very first Virtual Swim by the end of this month. Stay tuned—something big is coming.

A Milestone for the Book
I hit a massive milestone for my upcoming book this week! I’ve officially finished recording the video that will be linked to the QR code on the back cover. This video adds a whole new dimension to the reading experience, and completing it means we are incredibly close to the official launch.

Thank you for being part of this journey—from the rough weeks to the breakthroughs.

Keep swimming and see you next week,
Bernhard

P.S. I plan to send my letters out every Friday morning 5 am CET. But as this is a human-to-human connection, please bear with me if life (or my kids) decides to “reorganize” my schedule. I’m a pretty good swimmer, but I haven’t figured out how to swim through a family emergency at a good speed yet! 😉
